The Decision

The Dieter’s Notebook
Journal and devotions for dieters

Come join me as I travel along the road of dieting. I know this is going to be a long trip and at times we may feel we can’t go on, but I assure you that our Lord will be there to help us all along the way. I will share my triumphs and my defeats and hope that they encourage you as I journal my journey. Together with our Lord we can make it.

JOURNAL NOTES: - The Decision

We made camp last night, at the edge of the trail. Tents were provided for everyone. Our Guide encouraged us to stay in camp for the night. There were many things to do and many plans before we could start on our trip. Sad to say that some made a decision to go home just for tonight. I wish that they would have stayed. Our Guide had so many wonderful stories to tell us as we sat around the fire to keep warm.
It’s daylight now and I can just see the sun coming over the mountains. It is so beautiful, I don’t see our Guide, and some say that he left to go get the ones that left last night.
Everyone met in the large tent for breakfast of fruit, grains and low-fat milk, it was quite different then the bagels, doughnuts, bacon, eggs and coffee I was use to, but I must admit it was quite delicious.
After breakfast we had a meeting with our Guide who requested that we now make a decision. We had to decide whether we would be following Him or remaining here; doing things our way. I thought about my way and all the misery that I have had there.
Oh yes, I could do what I wanted, I could do my own thing, I could eat all I wanted, but then I would still be miserable. I thought about the guilt, the shame and how I felt when I couldn’t fit into my clothes. How I didn’t want to do things because I was either to tired or to fat. Yes, this decision was important, I could stay here in this place and eat all I wanted or I could follow my Guide to the land of freedom.
I decided I was tired of my way and wanted to be set free, I took a deep breath and signed my contract to follow my Guide. Under my name I noticed my Guide had signed His name in dark red.
I encourage you to make a decision with me to follow our Guide along the wilderness trail to the land of freedom.

DEVOTIONAL: Now Go - (Exodus 3:10)

God told Moses to “Go”. God had a plan for his people. Moses had a decision to make. Should he go to fulfill God’s plan or stay where he was. Moses decided to follow God’s plan.
God now is asking you to “Go” Make a decision today to follow the Lord.
You may be wondering how? How can I leave my confront zone of chocolate, cookies, chips and ice cream.
To go somewhere or do something when you don’t have all the plans is hard. God gives us a promise that if we follow Him, he will be with us.
Now go! Make that important decision today to follow the Lord in your eating habits and we will journey together to victory.

PRAYER:

Lord I pray for my friends and ask you to help them make the important decision to make this journey to follow you in a plan to eat healthy.
I pray that as they make the decision to follow you that you will give them the assurance that you will be with them.
Thank you Lord for your promise to be with us. Help us now as we travel the road that leads to victory. Amen

Accountability: I have lost so far. 1.5 pounds I give God all the glory.

Check back again and together we can make this journey along the road to victory. I will post every Monday with a new topic and my Accountability.

Let me know how you are doing? I will pray for you personally.

Well I must admit that I lost 1.5 pounds this week only for the grace of God.
I have to give Him all the glory.
I started out my new beggings great. kept right on track. By the end of the week I received some bad news and it set me back.
Of course I went for the ice cream and some other unhealthy foods.
I don't want to blame this on bad news. I want to come to a place where bad news or anything will not set me off.
I need not only to make a decision to start my journey, but to keep going no matter what.
I hope everyone had a great week.
Keep in touch, as we can help one another. We can pray for our failures and glory in our success.
God Bless until next monday.
